Institution - Industry
Interaction Centre
Training
at Tube Investments of India Limited has a history dating back to
the sixties. Initially, it started as a unit based initiative, and
later developed as Management Development Centre (MDC), a common
facility, within TPI campus.
Soon it became evident that, to
meet the demands and challenges of today’s competitive market
place, it was imperative to develop and enhance the competencies
of people. It was time to move on. MDC thus evolved as “Institution
- Industry Interaction Centre” (IIIC), a magnificent building in
the serene setting of Avadi, blending the southern architectural
richness of the Chettinad and Malabar styles. The centre was
established in the year 1993, and inaugurated by
Mr.M.V.Arunachalam, then Managing Director, TII along with
Mr.A.Vellayan, then President, TII.
Undertaking the overwhelming task
of training and educating executives to deal with increasingly
complex workplaces and to become internationally competitive, the
centre has transformed over time into a “Place of Learning”
for all the management staff of TII, and is also reaching out to
other companies in the Murugappa Group.
